INFO: Besides being an idol, Dirceu Krüger is also a Cori asset. The midfielder, who began his career in amateur football in Curitiba, playing for União Ahú, began his career at Coritiba in the mid-1960s. His refined style helped the club win titles again after an eight-year drought. In 1970, the player suffered a violent tackle during a match and ruptured his intestinal tract. The midfielder hovered between life and death, but returned triumphant. Krüger would go on to win four more State Championships with Coxa (1972, 1973, 1974, and 1975), as well as the Torneio do Povo in 1973. Dirceu Krüger became a club employee, assistant coach of Coxa, and whenever a coach was ousted, he took over the professional team. His first time was on November 7, 1979, replacing Elba de Pádua Lima, in Coritiba's 1-0 victory over Brasil de Pelotas, in the Brazilian Championship.

On February 27, 1966, against Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense, he made his first appearance for the club in 252 matches, and on his debut, he scored his first goal for the club, tying the match in the final minute. The midfielder quickly distinguished himself with his speed and assists. He played for the club until his retirement in 1976, having scored 58 goals.
