Attack MindedINFO: To speak of Alberto Zolim Filho, better known as Carlitos, is to speak of one of the greatest players in the history of S.C. Internacional.
It's no wonder that Placar magazine, in its special edition for Internacional's centenary, when selecting the 100 greatest players in the club's history, placed him in 5th place, behind only Falcão, Fernandão, Tesourinha, and Figueroa. Even in the 90s, the aforementioned magazine simulated the dream Internacional team (of all time), placing Carlitos on the left wing of the team (see attached image).
With great fighting spirit and speed, he was considered a remarkable striker who could shoot with both feet, and what stands out most in his biography are his unique feats, some even unprecedented.
Among them, he stands out as the greatest goalscorer in the history of Internacional and the player to score the most goals for a single club in Rio Grande do Sul. He is credited with 485 (four hundred and eighty-five) goals, exclusively for Internacional, because he never played for another team. This may not seem like much when compared to other Brazilian stars (Pelé, Romário, Zico, among others), however, it should be noted that not even Maradona, so idolized by Argentinians, scored as many. He was credited with only 358 (three hundred and fifty-eight) goals in his entire career. We are not comparing the two players technically here, as we recognize the unquestionable attributes of the Argentinian idol. We are only presenting statistical data, which shows that Maradona, who came later, scored fewer goals than Carlitos throughout his career.
