Attack MindedINFO: Osni was one of the best players in Bahia's history and the 4th highest scorer of all time, with 138 goals (according to the club's official statistics). His red-and-black past often makes fans and specialized media forget his name among Bahia's most important players.
At Vitória, Osni won only one Bahian title, he was awarded the Placar Magazine Silver Ball twice, as the best right-winger in the 1972 and 1974 Brazilian championships and 3 times top scorer in the Bahian championship.
His good performance made Flamengo buy him at the end of 1976. During his time at Flamengo, he was on the cover of Scoreboard No. 338, with a full-page photo, he was successful, but the well-known injuries hampered him.
Bought by Bahia in 1978, he had injury problems again, played for other teams and returned to Bahia to become four-time champion of Bahia in 81/82/83/84, and top scorer in the Bahia championship for the fourth time, in 1983 and 84.
Osni's playing style was characterized by being bold, cheerful, and irreverent. He stood out for his skillful dribbling and audacity in confronting more experienced defenders, with behavior considered "mischievous" and fun on the field. This attitude culminated in memorable moments, such as the famous episode in which he knelt on the ball and provoked an opponent.
