INFO: Formed in the youth divisions of Botafogo-RJ, he was the first true winger in Brazilian football, extremely offensive, his strong point being his crosses into the opponent's area, always dangerous.

His best moment in his career was when he played for Bahia, where he is an idol to this day, even being called up to the Brazilian National Team. At Bahia, he formed an offensive partnership with Bobô and Cláudio Adão. Fans regret that he didn't stay at Bahia to win the 1988 Brazilian Championship (the final was in 1989).

He also played for several other Brazilian clubs, including Atlético-MG, Catuense-BA, Fluminense-RJ, Palmeiras-SP, Flamengo-RJ, Moto Clube, and Vasco-RJ, where he ended his career.

Spoiler: show
Zanata took his first steps in the world of football in 1977, playing for Portuguesa Carioca. His skill caught the attention of international scouts, and he received an offer to play for Sporting Lisbon in Portugal. The right-back decided to seize the opportunity and set off to take on the challenge of playing in Europe.

After his experience in Portugal, Zanata returned to Brazil and joined Botafogo in 1978. At the Rio de Janeiro club, he had the chance to showcase his talent in the youth ranks. His speed, accuracy in crosses, and defensive solidity were evident, and he continued to develop his skills.
