INFO: The best years in Wisła
Koźmin spent eight years in Wisła. Twice he was the champion of the country, three times - the runner-up. He appeared in the colors of Wisła 118 times in league games, and 22 times in international matches. In addition, he represented Krakow 13 times, and Poland three times.
From year to year, he became a character that was more and more strongly emphasizing his presence not only in the Vistula, but also in the world of Polish sport. In the summary of 1929 in Wisła it was written about him: "Maximilian Koźmin from among 24 fights of his team only in two was replaced by Tadeusz Kiliński High, calm and composed, representative Wisła goalkeeper is a type of player who can play in five it will never go below three. " This opinion lost nothing of its relevance in the following years, when it "climbed up in its upward form", up to the peak years when the appeals to the Polish national team finally came (1930, 1931).
Koźmin gained peace and confidence, making the team with him in the goal feel safe. He saved when others failed, as in the match against Polonia in Warsaw in 1932: In short, the match was shameful. Balcer made the impression of a hundred-man released for the first time on the football field. Reyman II - a man with gout disease, his older brother - an old gentleman who plays to move his bones and muscles (...) The team's strength was help and goalkeeper. Koźmin, although not the most technically reliable, has always intervened effectively and in time - we read in Przegląd Sportowy. Similarly, it was written after a dramatic match with Legia. Youthful enthusiasm and great talent brought Wisła Arthur, a happy shooter of all three goals. Koźmin was the second hero in the winners. He defended his temple bravely, sometimes desperately even, and more importantly - happily. Penalty kick, reflected in the corner, in the last minute of the match, decided after winning the Wisla 2 points. league. More and more often he was thanked for saving his face and points. Another example is the match with Ruch. The Silesians created much more fringe situations and those that were dangerous. Therefore, it will not be an exaggeration if we say that Koźmin's phenomenal straight game contributed to the fact that two points, being the rate of the above meeting, were divided between both opponents.
