INFO: Skillful and unfriendly to thrash with the defenders, Bráulio ended up paying dearly for the label that he was unable to endure a good fight.
To some, Braulio was a mere deceiver, much more interested in his designer clothes and his yellow Ford Corcel.
Bráulio was another victim of the "Mandarins", a select group of fans, journalists and advisers, noted for their dedication in the construction of the Beira Rio Stadium, while at the same time not conforming to the Gremista domination in the sixties.
Born in Porto Alegre (RS), where he was born on August 4, 1948, Bráulio Barbosa de Lima had already started his football career.
In the days of student of Rui Barbosa high school, Bráulio would kill classes to watch the idol Larry in the practices of the International while imagining, in total reverie, "I have to be a Larry".
Near his fifteenth birthday, his dream materialized when he arrived at the Children's Club of the International Sport Club.
And it did not take long to surprise, when in a little time already counted on its own fan club. In 1964, Bráulio already worked for the youth team forming a great pair next to the companion Chorinho.
In 1965 he signed his first professional appointment receiving 500.00 cruzeiros of gloves, plus monthly salaries of 90.00 cruzeiros. In the following two years, he was recognized as the "ace of the year" in Rio Grande do Sul.
Superb midfielder, Bráulio was one of the greatest ball controllers Brazilian football has ever produced.
Considered an authentic "diamond" by coach Oswaldo Rolla, his performances were able to fill his eyes, as in a friendly against the mighty Cruiser, when he made Willian and Procópio hit their heads while they searched the field.
Parallel to the enthusiasm for the inauguration of the Beira Rio Stadium in 1969, criticism of his classic and academic football became hot in that period. So Bráulio went to the bank.
Some members of the "Mandarins" group were influential journalists, who did not spare the boy Bráulio in his columns or in the analyzes by Radio Guaíba.
But Bráulio returned to the top in the same year of 1969, in the conquest of the title gaucho. Thus, the "Golden Boy" shut up the "Mandarins", who did not find the ear of President Carlos Stechman anymore.
After the departure of the "critics on duty", everything improved and the International again had a great team in the early seventies.
