INFO: Uruguayan goalkeeper of great placement and agility defended Colorado from 1954 to 1959 and with the gaucho team raised the state champion cup of 1956. For Uruguayan football, La Paz wore the Liverpool, Nacional and Peñarol shirts.
However, it was with the National Team of Uruguay that Jorge Américo La Paz achieved the most success of his career. In 1950, on the bench, he became world champion in the historic victory of the celestial team against Brazil in the game that was known by the silence of Maracanã.

Since 1990? Some teams (including us, the Hungarians or the Austrians) already had a third GK in the 1954 WC while the South American teams apparently needed more time to change their mind.
But La Paz definitely didn't belong to the WC winning squad of 1950, that was Anibal Paz as artemds already told..

Yes I misunderstood when FIFA allow teams have 23 players.

''Despite being part of the Uruguayan conquest in Maracanã, La Paz has always been very secretive about the subject.
- He was the third goalkeeper of the Uruguayan team in that world, but he did not like to talk about it - explains the journalist Márcio Carneiro, a friend of the Uruguayan.
In Uruguay Jorge Américo La Paz played for Liverpool, Nacional and Peñarol. In Brazilian teams he had a trip to Porto Alegre, America / RJ and Internacional, where he won the Rio Grande Championship in 1955.''
