INFO:
Currie is a former attacking midfielder. His career began in 1967 at Watford. He joined after a season Sheffield United, where he had the best time of his career, playing 378 matches and scoring 68 goals from 1968 to 1976. He then transferred to Leeds United, where he had three successful seasons, scoring 16 times in 124 games. He played also for Queens Park Rangers, Toronto National and Torquay United, where he retired in 1984. He gained 17 caps for England, scoring 3 times.
Considered by many and voted as the greatest ever player in Sheffield United's history, Currie was a vivacious and energetic player, gifted with great vision and the ability to deliver accurate long passes either with the inside or outside of the foot, from an attacking position or from the back. He was a fan favourite thanks to his amusing sublime skills, tricks and playmaking ability. He combined speed and strength in equal measure and seemingly made whatever he wanted with the ball, picking out a teammate from any distance. He could make a joke out of defences thanks to his accelerations past defenders and his accurate shots on goal from almost anywhere or in many different ways that often made goalkeepers look dumb. He orchestrated the rhythm of the game from the midfield, found chances to break at pace, received the passes on a side and tried to push forward at every chance possible. He ran and danced with the ball on his feet, going past a defender and leaving him in the place while he moved straight upfield. He wasn't as prolific as he was during his time at Sheffield United but he scored some spectacular goals, also with England. He proved to be also a decent piece taker: in a match lost 3-1 against Coventry City in 1973, Sheffield United's only goal was scored by Currie from a free kick and he took it without even running. He used to push back to help the defence quite a lot, showing aggression and pressing the opponents with some good tackles. At Leeds United, he often made volley passes to the side, finding a wide unmarked player, who had the ball dropped right in his path. In general though he seemed more prone to deliver remarkable short passes rather than long ones, which were often low lofted but occasionally out of measure. He always delivered a mix both entertainment and performance at the same time.

Perhaps adding long throw to his abilities? :)

I'll see to also watch some more games to try and find if he actually did it on a regular basis..
