INFO: Luiz Carvalho was not exactly the typical figure of a center forward, or rather, a center-forward (as they were called those of that position at the time). It was not very tall and had a size that was slightly overweight. But the attentive eyes of General Joao de Deus Saraiva saw in that young man a great potential. Blessed be the General!
In 1923, the General indicated the young man to the Guild. At the age of 15, the future "King of Turns" was for the first time in life, greeted by the gremista fans, who were present in the old social pavilion of the Baixada Stadium.
High speed, above-average intelligence, two-legged finish and clear, an impressive skill that only he had: The upset. In the years that followed, this was the trademark of the Gremista ace. Luiz Carvalho was able to power the ball past the back of the goalkeeper's arms to the edge of the field. This striking feature earned him a very appropriate nickname: The King of Turn.
Throughout his career, Luiz Carvalho was a great victor in classics. Of the 29 that disputed lost only 8. Won 16 times and still scored 15 goals. This mark makes him to this day the greatest Gremist gunner in grenal classics.
