INFO: Luisinho, was one of the best and most valuable attackers of Brazilian soccer in the 1930s. It was considered the most complete right wing in his time. Excellent dribbler, cut for both the bottom line and the middle. He crossed with excellence and his kick was strong and precise. After training, he was always training fundamentals on his own, to perfect what was already great.
Despite being a Carioca, Luis Mesquita has always played in São Paulo football. It had a victorious and long career (from 1928 to 1946).
It began in the soccer still adolescent, in the Anglo-Brazilian, where it stayed from 1928 to 1929.
He spent the season from 1929 to 1930 in one of the giant teams of the season, the multi-champion Club Atlético Paulistano.
He played in São Paulo da Floresta for almost the entire existence of the club from 1930 to 1934. Luisinho helped the precursor of the Tricolor to stand in the midst of the big teams. In addition to winning the Paulista Championship in 1931, the team was still runner-up in 1930, 1932, 1933 and 1934. At the time, he already had status as a player of the Brazilian national team, including the 1934 World Cup.
After the dissolution of São Paulo da Floresta, he went to work at the Student Athletic Club of São Paulo (team created by former members of his former club), from 1935 to 1936.
With the pomp of a club, he reached Palestra Itália (now Palmeiras) in 1936 and remained until 1940. He is the 9th highest scorer in the club's history with 123 goals scored in 163 matches. Again he was summoned for the 1938 World Cup.
He transferred to São Paulo in 1941 and stayed until retiring in 1946. He won three São Paulo championships: 1943, 1945 and 1946. In the latter two, Luisinho was the captain of the team. He is one of the greatest players of São Paulo in all times and the 6th scorer in the history of the club, with 173 goals.
Sagaz, before the games he warned the opponents defenders about the danger represented by his partner Leônidas da Silva. With the concern caused by the "Black Diamond", Luisinho made the party and occupied any breaches in the opponent's defense.
