Attack MindedINFO: Carvalho Leite was an impressive attacker. He is still the second highest scorer in Botafogo history with 274 goals scored in 326 matches. He was one of the great exponents of Brazilian football in the 1930s. During his twelve-year career, he only worked for Botafogo Football and Regattas. He was an attacking striker, he had an impressive presence in the area. Of all the Carioca titles won by Botafogo, five had the participation of Carvalho Leite. The simple memory of the achievements of 1930, 1932, 1933, 1934 and 1935, when Botafogo won the Tetracampeonato Carioca (unique in the history of the championship) and also the Tournaments From 1934 and 1938, shows the importance of the Botafogo idol.
At 18, Carvalho Leite was the player who played the most in the Botafogo title race in 1930. In addition to good performances, the striker finished the tournament as a top scorer with 14 goals. In 1941, in a fight against Bonsucesso, Carvalho Leite suffered an injury that would take him forever out of the grass, only 29 years old. In January 1942, shirt 9 said goodbye to the fields, having played only Botafogo and Brazil shirts throughout his career.
Carvalho Leite was the main responsible for the four-time history of Botafogo in the Campeonato Carioca in 1932, 1933, 1934 and 1935, the only one in the history of the tournament.
