Nima scored 30 of the 67 Botafogo goals in the same year's tournament, four of them in an unforgettable day, that of the 9-2 victory over Flamengo at home, the biggest of classic history.
A key player in the decisive games, Nile scored 69 goals in the Tetra campaign in 1932, 1933, 1934 and 1935.
Already far from the daily routine of the club, Nilo continued playing sporadically until May 16, 1938, when he said goodbye to the team in a 2-2 draw with the Pottery. There were 176 games and 184 goals in all, making him the sixth-highest Botafogo leader in history. Nilo was a five-time Brazilian champion with the Seleção Carioca and played the First World Cup in 1930 in Uruguay. For the Seleção, he played in 19 matches, scoring 11 goals. Nilo was top scorer of the State Championships of 1924, 1927 and 1933.
Despite his short stature, Nile was willing to face the defenders. Fast and skillful, he used these virtues to easily penetrate the opposing areas for the finals, which, most of the time, resulted in a goal.
