INFO: Begliomini made 184 games for Palestra with 118 wins, 30 draws, 36 defeats and no goal scored, having been the São Paulo champion in 1936, 1940 and 1942. He was the first player of today's ABC Paulista to defend the Brazilian National Team.
After the 1942 title, Begliomini moved to Corinthians, where he was only runners-up: 1943, 1945 and 1946. He made 75 league games with 47 wins, 12 draws and 16 losses. For one of these ironies of fate, when he defended Corinthians scored two goals against in classics against Palmeiras.
He ended his career prematurely, at the age of 33, while still playing for Corinthians, due to a serious concussion in one of his knees. At that time made double of zaga, with another legend of the Brazilian soccer, Domingos of Guide.
Begliomini served the Brazilian team between 1942 and 1945. The first call was to participate in the South American Championship of 1942, played in Uruguay. The team came in third, behind Argentina and the home champions. Due to a strong flu that caught the plane, the defender was only able to debut against Ecuador, in the victory by 5 X 1, in Centennial Stadium of Montevideo. In the Brazilian attack, there were talents of the greatness of Cláudio Cristóvão de Pinho, Pirilo, Tim and Zizinho.
The Brazilian defense was the least leaked of the tournament and Begliomini stood out for his serious football and a lot of race, which earned him the nickname "Stalingrad", reference to the Russian city that was the scene of one of the bloody battles of World War II. The press of the time referred to it as "the barrier" or "the insurmountable." At home, with parents and uncles, the nickname was more affectionate, "Cócco", which, in Italian, means 'dear', 'favorite'.
