INFO:Boba Lobilo is a former centre-back. He spent his entire career at Vita Club from 1970 to 1982, winning the African Champions League in 1973. He represented the Democratic Republic of the Congo, at the time Zaire, from 1973 to 1980, playing at least 21 matches, winning the 1974 Africa Cup of Nations and participating to the FIFA World Cup of the same year.
Considered one of the best defenders in DR Congo's history, Lobilo proved it at the World Cup as he was arguably the best player in the team's back-line. He was short but physically strong, a good man marker and excellent tackler with a solid anticipation ability. He performed well even against a fearsome striker like Scotland's Denis Law. He was also good in the air, had solid technical qualities and short ball distribution, and was capable of making acrobatic clearances. He would occasionally carry the ball forward similarly to a
libero even though his teammate Tshimen Bwanga was technically the sweeper of the team.
