Kidiaba is a former goalkeeper. He started his career in 2001 at AS Saint-Luc. One year later, he transferred to Mazembe where he spent the rest of his career, making 681 appearances until his retirement in 2016. He represented DR Congo from 2002 to 2015, playing 64 matches for his national team.
Kidiaba was a solid goalkeeper who possessed excellent reflexes and jump that made him effective against powerful strikes, close range shots, and high balls. He was also remarkable when coming off the goal to stop a striker one-on-one. Additionally, he had a quite powerful goal kick that allowed him to send the ball to the opposing half, though the passes weren't always accurate. On the other hand, he rarely catched the ball, usually preferring to push it away, risking to give his opponents a second chance at shooting. Also not very good at positioning, he would sometimes be out of spot, so that his opponents had a better chance at scoring as the goal wasn't covered well enough.
