INFO:Wilcox is a former left side midfielder or left winger. He grew up at Blackburn Rovers and spent there the most of his professional career, playing over 300 matches and scoring 33 goals from 1989 to 1999 and winning the 1994-95 Premier League. He played also for Leeds United, Leicester City and Blackpool, retiring in 2006. He gained 3 caps for England.
Wilcox was a good finalizer, gifted with a dangerous long range shot. Naturally left-footed, he was comfortable with the right foot as well. He possessed good speed, technique and accurate crossing ability that made him one of Blackburn's most prolific assist-men alongside Stuart Ripley during the 1990s. Wilcox proved to be also a tireless hard-working player when he wasn't in possession of the the ball. Thanks to this characteristic, he formed a very effective couple of left-sided players with defender Graeme Le Saux. Wilcox himself was efficient during the defensive phase, being even more essential player for Blackburn Rovers.
