INFO:Jordi Cruijff ─ son of legend Johan Cruijff ─ is a former attacking or side midfielder and secondary striker, who occasionally played as centre forward, central or defensive midfielder and centre back. His professional career began in 1992 at Barcelona B. He played in the first team of the
Blaugrana between 1994 and 1996 for a total of 54 matches and 11 goals. He then played for Manchester United from 1996 to 2000 ─ excluding the second half of the 1998-99 season, where he played at Celta de Vigo ─ but appeared in only 58 games, scoring 8 goals. He had his best time at Deportivo Alavés from 2000 to 2003, playing 110 matches, scoring 12 goals and reaching the 2000-01 UEFA Cup final. He retired in 2010 after spells at Espanyol, Metalurh Donetsk and Valletta. He gained 9 caps for Netherlands in 1996, scoring once.
Cruijff was a skillful player, capable with both feet, gifted with sudden sprint, remarkable technique, dribbling and passing ability. His ball distribution with short passes was especially accurate. He also possessed a powerful shot and was a threat in the opposing box thanks to a good heading ability. Lack of consistency and numerous injuries throughout his career stopped him from reaching his full potential.
