BalancedINFO:Wolverhampton Wanderers' legend Ron Flowers is one of the greatest players in the history of the team. He played 515 matches and scored 37 goals from 1952 to 1967, winning both First Division and FA Charity shield three times and the FA Cup once. He also played for Northampton Town and Telford United, before retiring in 1971. He capped for England 49 times, scoring 10 goals, and was part of the squad that won the 1966 FIFA World Cup even though he didn't play a match. He initially played as attacking midfielder before changing main position to half-back and and he apparently played even as centre back in the late stages of his career.
Flowers was a superb athlete: he had good technique and was accurate with both feet; he had excellent timing when anticipating and was firm in tackling when defending; he was a great passer but also a fantastic penalty taker; he had the abilities to create either opportunities for his teammates or his own space to score by powering through, going forward and back throughout the whole game; player with great consistency, he rarely had underwhelming performances.
