INFO:Goswami was a left inside or left winger. He spent his entire career at Mohun Bagan, where he played from 1954 to 1968. During his career, he refused offers from big clubs, the most relevant being from Tottenham Hotspur in 1960. A former India's captain, he scored 9 goals in 30 official matches for his country, although he totally played 50 international games.
Considered one of the greatest ever Indian players, Goswami possessed a strong build and superb skills. He was an offensive minded forward, gifted with good balance, distinguished for his remarkable and slick ball control, clever passing ability, and smooth dribbling that helped him out of most situations. The coaches of the opposing teams used to tell their defenders to always look at the ball rather than Goswami's legs, otherwise there was no chance to take the ball off him. With the past as footballer, he played also cricket very well, running 20-30 yards with ease.
