Roggero was a full-back, mainly on the right. He spent the majority of his career at Casale, playing from 1928 to 1935 and in 1938-39, for a total of 190 appearances. He also played for Lazio, Brescia and Biellese. He retired in 1942.
A promising defender, tough, gifted with strength and plenty of determination, Roggero was an aggressive tackler who didn't care much whether he hit the ball or the leg, especially when the match got heated. He possessed solid positional sense, knowing where he had to go to intercept a pass or challenge an opponent. However, he wasn't quick nor agile, suffering against fast and skilled strikers like Bettini, Libonatti and Reguzzoni. He also lacked basic technical qualities both on the ground and in the air, having troubles in clearing crosses with volleys.
