Bertinotti was a left winger. He spent his whole career at Casale, scoring 19 goals in 84 matches from 1913 to 1922. He played an important part in the team's 1913-14 title winning season, when he scored 7 times in 28 appearances.
Bertinotti was the man of the crosses from the left flank, calm, capable and clever. Also a fine dribbler, he used to challenge the defenders 1-on-1 when he didn't have much support from his teammates. He was very quick and couldn't be left unmarked without consequences. Whenever a defender was too focused on the central zone, he was a real danger on the flank. Like the typical wingers of his time, his main task was making assists and he could deliver accurate crosses, either from corner or at the end of an action. Morever, he was able to orchestrate the attack in general from the side. Considering the good number of goals, he proved to be also a decent scorer, even though he often missed easy goals from near and favorable positions.
