Teerasil is a centre forward, winger or attacking midfielder. He spent the majority of his career at Muangthong United, playing there in 2007 and from 2009 to 2020, for a total of 364 appearances and 168 goals. He's one of the few Thai to play in major European leagues. He was signed by Manchester City for the 2007-08 season but he was sold to Grasshopper II in Swiss lower leagues before the start of the season due to work permits issues. In Switzerland, he played 6 matches and scored once. Things went slightly better in 2014-15 as he was loaned to Almería, where he played 6 games in La Liga and 4 in Copa del Rey, scoring once in the latter. He played also for Royal Thai Air Force and Rajpracha in Thailand, Sanfrecce Hiroshima and Shimizu S-Pulse in Japan. He joined Thai team Bathum United at the beginning of 2021. He capped for Thailand 115 times, scoring 53 goals so far.
Teerasil acts as pure striker or deep-lying forward, often coming deep down to help the team maintain possession or even regaining it. He then triggers a personal action before passing the ball or trying to overcome the entire defence. He's inspired by his idol Nwankwo Kanu in terms of style, skills, touch of the ball and gestures. He can dribble his opponents with ease by using sprints, fast touches, tricks and turns. His dribbling skills are a threat for the opponents, who have to tackle him down many times. Moreover, he can be a main reference when he plays either as winger or attacking midfielder. In fact, his quickness, great quality on the ball and vision of the game allow him to provide many assists for his teammates. He's right-footed but he can use the left foot well, he's comfortable at hitting the ball first time, with the outside or the heel. He prefers delivering short passes, although he sometimes delivers long crosses. His shots have more accuracy than power, which though isn't lacking. He's also good in the air.
