INFO:Marchina was an inside and centre forward. He played most of his career at Alessandria, making 153 appearances from 1925 to 1934, scoring 40 goals. He left after a series of injuries and played in lower leagues before retiring in 1941. Marchina was a talented player who took inspiration from some greats like Adolfo Baloncieri, Elvio Banchero and Giovanni Ferrari, studying their playstyles. Marchina was capable of setting up the play and sometimes finishing the action that he triggered. He usually played with will but wasn't too consistent. Legendary coach Karl Stürmer noticed his ability inside the box and decided to turn him into a centre forward for the 1931-32 season. Marchina scored 21 goals in 30 matches that season, proving to be an effective marauder, dangerous on the lines, able with both feet and decent with the head. Unfortunately, his new position exposed him to the hard tackles of the defenders and a consequent series of injuries that ended being his downfall.
