INFO:Lombardo was a full back. He played 141 for Genoa from 1925 to 1931. He then made 163 appearances and scored once for Alessandria from 1931 to 1939. He retired at the end of the experience with the
Grigi.
Lombardo was a strong defender, gifted with sense of position and timing in the tackle, playing with tactical keenness and preventing threats. Firm on both ball and opponent, he sometimes committed fouls. On the other hand, he was an excellent man marker who didn't give the forwards enough space to shoot, prevailing even on fearsome opponents. He also took care well of sweeping the area even though his kicks lacked of power. He gave great solidity to the defence that excelled less when he was absent.
