INFO:Hojeij is a former attacking midfielder. He spent the majority of his career at Nejmeh, where he played from 1994 to 2006 and from 2011 to his retirement in 2013, scoring 79 goals. He played also for Mabarra, Khoyol and Shahab Sahel. He caped for Lebanon 33 times, scoring 6 goals and taking part to the 2000 AFC Asian Cup, where he scored the final equaliser in 2-2- draw against Iraq.
Regarded as one of the best players in Nejmeh's history and an icon of Lebanese football, Hojeij was an inspiration to many especially during the 1990s, a decade where Lebanese football was going through hard times. His presence alone in the field gave enthusiasm to the fans. His touches, passes, turns and shooting ability were superior to the other Lebanese players. Nicknamed "Maestro", he could score and create scoring chances against fearful defenders and goalkeepers. He possessed good speed especially on short distance, superb ball control, dribbling and passing skilll. A natural left-footed, he used the right foot equally well. Also fairly accurate with the outside, he could give the ball great curling. Gifted with great shooting technique, he could score with sudden volleys or long range shots. He often rushed towards the opposition's area, sometimes even scoring with headers. A dead ball specialist, he scored many free kicks with either foot and occasionally even from direct corner kick.
