INFO:Cilia is a former centre back. His career started in 1955 at Rabat Ajax. He then spent the rest of his career at Valletta from 1956 to 1964, captaining the side for many years, winning three Premier Leagues and two FA Trophys. He was named Maltese Player of the Year in 1958 and 1964. He transferred to Australia, where he played for Melita, Sutherland and Corinthians. He eventually came back briefly to Valletta in 1971, retiring two years later. He was called up for Malta in at least 12 occasions, playing most of the times as captain. He took part to the 1956 International Youth Tournament and was voted best full back over future Inter legend Aristide Guarneri.
Regarded as one of Maltese greatest defenders and surely the best at his time, Cilia was a stalwart strong centre back despite his short size. He was known for his consistency, courage, calmness and cleverness. His always solid performances were inspirational for his teammates.
