INFO:Sala was a right back. He spent his almost entire career at Milan, making 125 appearances from 1909 to 1920, scoring 3 goals. He was Milan's captain in the 1915-16 season. He played also for Sempione and Internazionale, where he retired in 1921. He was called up for Italy once in 1912.
Sala was a short defender who lacked of strength but he compensated with quickness in the sprint and excellent agility. He moved very well between the opponents, stopping them with aggression or intercepting with great timing even the best passes. Either calm enough or too nervous, Sala was a tough man marker who not rarely committed fouls, sometimes quarrelling with the referee and receiving a red card in the process. Despite his bad temperament and impulsiveness, he was consistent and reliable. Moreover, he could set up the attack decently and sweep the ball away with accurate and powerful kicks, occasionally even with volleys.
