Torriani was a left-winger, who then played as wing-half in his late career. He spent the majority of his career at Milan, scoring 34 goals in 206 appearances from 1927 to 1935, year of his retirement. He played also for Legnano and Juventus. Torriani was a very short player, gifted with great speed to face bigger opponents and stamina to resist for the entire match. He was creative, possessed superb technique and was an able assist-man, capable of delivering accurate crosses or through passes. His shots had good power and he proved it particularly from 1927 to 1931, his most prolific period. When he played as midfielder, he was very comfortable against quick wingers as he could take advantage of his endurance and speed to mark them persistently.
