INFO:Al-Shammari is a former centre back or defensive midfielder. He spent the majority of his career at Qadsia from 1999 to 2011. He played also for Al-Sulaibikhat, Al-Arabi and Al-Salmiya, where he retired in 2012. He capped for Kuwait 109 times, scoring 3 goals. Al-Shammari was regarded in his prime as one of the best players in Kuwait. He was good in the defence thanks to anticipation and positioning that compensated his lack of physique. He wasn't particularly fast but moved well in tight spaces and could overcome the opponents with good dribbling even though he suffered physical contacts. He had fine ball distribution especially when delivering long crosses, which he did well also from free kick, sending the ball right on the head of the forwards. He also scored several times from set piece. A fine shooter, he scored one of his Kuwait goals in 2000 with a low ground right-footed shot from outside the box, even though it came in a 20-0 win against Bhutan. The other two goals were surely more prestigious as they were scored against Czech Republic in 1995 and Finland in 2001.
