INFO:
Al-Mutawa is a secondary striker or centre forward, capable of playing as right winger and attacking midfielder. He spent almost his entire career at Qadsia, where he made his debut in 2002. The only year spent in a different club is the 2011, when he was loaned to Saudi club Al-Nassr. In 2012, he made one-month trial with Nottingham Forest and impressed to the point that the English club was about to sign him if it wasn't for a work permit denial for the Kuwaiti striker. So far, he made for Qadsia 423 appearances and scored 324 goals. He holds the record for most caps for Kuwait as he made 204 appearances, scoring 57 goals. FIFA recognizes only 196 caps, which are enough to declare him the all-time record appearance holder in the history of national teams.
One the most prominent players in the history of Kuwait, Al-Mutawa has been indispensable in the starting XI of the national team for many years. His qualities made him stand out due to his creativity and superior level if compared to his teammates. He's right-footed but extremely accurate with his left foot too. He works well either inside or outside the box. He's excellent in front of the goal thanks to his positional sense and timing of reaction that allow him to tap the ball in quickly or receive the ball in the best possibile spot, controlling it superbly even if it's in the air. When he's one-on-one against the goalkeeper, he usually dribbles him even if he's surrounded by some defenders, otherwise he can beat him with a lob. When he's far from the goal, he can start the offense with a short pass in the midfield before rushing forward at high speed in order to get the ball back. He then can be a threat from outside the area due to his powerful but well placed long range shots. He's in possession of outstanding shot technique as he can score easily first time, with the outside or from difficult positions. He doesn't waste time to attempt to shoot and it seems that he can find out quickly where to send the ball, taking advantage of any goal spot left uncovered or a positional mistake by the goalkeeper. He's also a good free kick taker.
