Al-Khaldi is a former goalkeeper. He spent almost his entire career at Qadsia, making 325 appearances from 2001 to 2017. He played also for Khaitan from 1997 to 2001. He capped for Kuwait in 115 occasions and he's a former national team captain. Al-Khaldi was a good goalkeeper who lacked of height but possessed superb jump and good reflexes that allowed him to make acrobatic saves. He was quite capable out of the goal whether he had to rush to stop an opponent or jump to collect a cross, resisting to charges even though he wasn't a big man. He was also a penalty saver specialist. He wasn't particularly good at stopping the shots. Therefore, he usually preferred to deflect the ball, sometimes recurring to unpredictable movements either with his hand or leg.
