Mohamad is a former centre back. He spent the best time of his career in Germany, making 93 appearances for Freiburg from 2004 to 2007 and 129 for Köln from 2007 to 2011, scoring respectively 10 and 13 goals. He played also for Lebanese teams Safa and Olympic Beirut, and Emirati team Al-Ahli. He retired in 2016, although he had his last match in 2013. He capped for Lebanon 81 times, scoring 3 goals.
One of the most successful players in Lebanon's history, Mohamad captained both Köln and Lebanon national team. He was a good and faithful defender whenever he played. However, he was protagonist of the fastest red card in German league's history when he was sent off after only 92 seconds in a match between Köln and Kaiserslautern in the 2010-11 season. Nonetheless, Mohamad was strong, notably good in the anticipation and had a solid tackling. Furthermore, his good technique enabled him to defend the ball or carry it forward while trying to dribble a few opponents when necessary, showing also decent pace. Sometimes he would deliver fast and usually accurate pinpoint balls from the back towards the forward line. He himself was a threat in the attack thanks to his tap-in, remarkable headers, and occasionally good volleys. He even scored from free kick at least once with Lebanon.
