Al-Dosari is a former central or right-side midfielder. He spent the majority of his career at Al-Muharraq, where he played in 2000-01, 2003-04, and from 2006 to 2016. Also, he played in the United Arab Emirates for Al-Shaab from 2001 to 2003, and had short experiences in Qatar with Al-Markhiya, Al-Arabi, and Al-Khor. He capped for Bahrain 108 times, scoring 3 goals.
One of the most prominent Bahraini players in the 2000s, Al-Dosari was instrumental and distinguished in midfield as he was capable of balancing the zone by linking the defensive and offensive lines as required. While he wasn't notably strong and didn't do too much movements, often preferring to play the ball from a static position with accurate short passes, he could go forward and distribute the ball or support the defenders and help them free the area from the opposition threat. He wasn't too quick, although he showed glimpses of short sprints, especially in combination with good agility, solid technique and dribbling skill. Sometimes, he attempted to shoot from long range or from free kick.
