Aaish is a former attacking midfielder, capable of playing as side midfielder or winger, and sometimes deployed as central midfielder or left-back. He started playing also as defensive midfielder in the latter part of his career. Debuting professionally in 2003 with Al-Muharraq, he stayed there until 1 January 2010. He transferred to Qatari team Al-Sailiya, where he spent numerous seasons until the end of January 2017 (he played for Dubai Club in 2011-12 and again for Al-Muharraq in 2012-13). He retired in 2021 after short experiences with Umm-Salal, Al-Riffa, and Al-Hala. He capped for Bahrain 104 times, scoring 20 goals.
Undoubtedly one of the best Bahraini midfielders in the late 2000s and early 2010s, Aaish was always one of the most active players in Bahrain national team in every game. He wasn't very fast, especially in short distances, but he possessed solid technical and dribbling skill, and an excellent ball distribution. He was highly capable of exchanging the ball with his teammates, delivering accurate through passes, and often dangerous curled crosses. In fact, he usually was in charge of set pieces whenever he could send a ball in the box. As he was solid in dispossessing his opponents, he was occasionally deployed in defensive positions. He wasn't notably prolific from a scoring standpoint but he still had a fine shooting ability thanks to a powerful and often sudden strike. Furthermore, he was a remarkable free kick taker and a penalty specialist.
Bahrain's best player during the 2011 AFC Asian Cup, he unfortunately got himself booked twice within a few minutes in the second match, against India, first after committing a useless foul and then after simulating in the opposition's area although his team was leading 4-1. Therefore, he had to miss the third game of the group stage that his team lost 1-0 to Australia, resulting in the elimination of Bahrain.
