Abdullatif is a centre forward, right winger or secondary striker. His career began in 2004 at Al-Hala, where he played until 2007 before coming back for the 2010-11 season. In Bahrain, he played also for Al-Riffa in 2009-10, and Al-Muharraq in 2011-12 and from 2014 to 2021. Outside Bahrain, he had experiences in Kuwait for Al-Arabi from 2007 to 2009, and short spells in Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and again Kuwait. He signed for Bahraini team Al-Khaldiya in 2021. He capped for Bahrain 131 times, scoring 46 goals, and he's the country's current top ever scorer.
A technically gifted striker in possession of solid pace, Abdullatif has his strongest point in good ball control and dribbling skill. However, his tendency to overdue with his dribbling, sometimes cost him as he doesn't possess great balance and he falls easily when challenged by a defender. Even though he often tries the personal action, he knows how to pass the ball, sometimes delivering good through passes even with the outside of his right foot. Moreover, he's a fine penalty taker. Despite being Bahrain's top scorer, Abdullatif's performances have always been quite inconsistent. In some games, he would do barely anything. When he was in good form though he could be instrumental. His biggest performace is probably the 2011 AFC Asian Cup match against India, where he scored four goals in a 5-2 win.
