Abdulrahman is a left-side midfielder, capable of playing as left winger and attacking midfielder. He spent most of his career at Al-Muharraq, where he played from 2002 to 2008 and from 2010 to 2015. He played also in Kuwait for Qadsia in 2008-09, and in Qatar for Al-Shamal in 2009-10. He signed for Manama Club in 2015, then for Al-Hala in 2019. He capped for Bahrain 91 times, scoring 13 goals.
In his prime considered the best free kick taker in Bahrain, Abdulrahman is gifted with a powerful left-footed shot that he takes advantage of especially from long range. He's also a remarkable playmaker who provides his teammates with numerous passes and crosses with his left foot, either from active play or set piece. However, the balls he sends aren't always accurate, and the opposing defenders can easily get into position and intercept them. Also, he possesses solid ball control and the ability to defend the ball, but on the other hand he's not very quick nor notably good in the dribbling.
