INFO:Delai is a former left-back, capable of playing also on the other flank. He spent his career at Ba F.C. during the 1980s and early 1990s. He at least capped 10 times for Fiji and scored 4 goals, being instrumental in a 1990 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Australia in 1988 ─ where he played as right-back because Abraham Watkins was the starting left-back ─ as well as in the 1988 and 1992 Melanesian Cup both won by his national team.
A tall and classy player, Delai was calm in defending as much as he was in scoring goals. He was though mostly known for his overlapping runs down the flank, after which he would attempt to score, mostly with powerful long range shots, or deliver a lethal ground level cross to the box after he gained several yards and got close to the corner flag. He was a joy to watch as he was also capable of controlling the play and dictating the pace of the game to the point that his fast-paced style of play could speed up the game when it was slow. His offensive prowess made him look more like a wing-back who took advantage of any opportunity to push forward and attack. Furthermore, he was a long throw specialist.
