Yusuf is a centre forward, capable of playing as secondary striker, and occasionally deployed as winger. His professional career began in 2014 at East Riffa, even though he debuted in the first team during the 2011-12 season. After one year at Al-Riffa in 2017-18, he transferred to Czech Republic, where he had a decent experience, playing for Bohemians 1905, Slavia Praha and Slovan Liberec, scoring 15 goals and providing several assists in nearly 100 appearances within four seasons. He signed for Indonesian team Persija Jakarta in 2022. He capped for Bahrain 73 times so far, scoring 10 goals.
A tall and strong player, Yusuf isn't just a good in-box striker who can use his physique and ability in the air to be a threat inside the opposition's area. He likes falling back to the outside of the area and create space for his teammates. He can hold the ball and pass it to a better positions player or wait for a cross and prolong it with a header. Able with either foot, although more accurate with his natural right, he's gifted a powerful shot and remarkable shooting technique. Understandably, he lacks of notable pace, but he's even slower on the ball. Furthermore, his ball control is often sloppy, even though his dribbling is at times decent. A good penalty taker, he also scored once from free kick during his time at Slavia Praha. Often a substitute during his time in Czech Republic, Yusuf though always gave his contribution. Unfortunately, he's also prone to injuries.
