Vuilabasa is a former central or defensive midfielder. He spent his entire career at Ba F.C. from 1977 to 1989. He also capped for Fiji numerous times, being a regular in the national team from 1977 to 1988. An intelligent and dominating midfielder, one of the Fijian best ever in his role, Vuilabasa was known for his stocky, thigh muscular built, and his lethal thunderous shots that allowed him to score from nearly 40 meters. Considered one of the best midfielders in the Fiji Islands, and good in both defence and attack, he showed class, versatility, discipline, a calm composure, and commitment in the game with his never say die attitude.
