INFO:Kim Song-il is a former left winger. He spent his career at Moranbong. A member of the North Korea national team during the 1960s and 1970s, he capped over 30 times, scoring at least 2 goals and taking part to the 1966 FIFA World Cup. A regulart starter in the first two games of the World Cup, he seemingly had troubles attacking the experienced Soviet team, not looking enough dynamic in the last twenty meters, but he could be seen occasionally tracking back to help his own midfield, even managing once to take the ball off an excellent player like Igor Chislenko. More dynamic against Chile, he showed fair ball control and passing ability. On the other hand, a shot with the right outside that he delivered after rushing down the flank and cutting inside look quite awful and finished wide. The decision to deploy Yang Song-guk in the last two games turned to be correct as he was more effective in attack.
