INFO:
An Yong-hak is a former defensive midfielder, capable of playing as central midfielder and centre back. He spent most of his career in Japan, playing for Albirex Niigata from 2002 to 2004, Nagoya Grampus Eight in 2005, Ōmiya Ardija in 2010, Kashiwa Reysol in 2011-12, Yokohama FC from 2014 to 2016. He also played in South Korea at Busan IPark in 2006-07 and Suwon Samsung Bluwings in 2008-09. He capped for North Korea 42 times, scoring 3 goals and taking part to the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
A good defensive minded midfielder and man marker, An Yong-hak was the kind of player who would keep fighting for the ball with strength, constant tackles and interceptions to regain possession. He was a bit slow but could rely on short sprints that he used to reach his opponent before he could make a move. He had solid technique, dribbling and was a fine shooter for a defensive player. He also scored some headers as he was good in the air. Anyway, he preferred passing the ball most of the times. However, his ball distribution wasn't really optimal despite often being one of the main corner takers. His passes and crosses were either soft and accurate or fast and too long.
