INFO:Jong Il-gwan is a centre forward, winger and attacking midfielder, capable of playing also as secondary striker and occasionally side midfielder. He spent most of his career at Rimyŏngsu, where he played from 2011 to 2017, coming back in 2019. Some important European clubs like Newcastle United, PSV and Partizan were interested in signing him in 2012. He eventually transferred to Switzerland for the 2017-18 season, playing half of it at Luzern and the rest at Wil. He didn't find too much space though. He capped for North Korea 76 times, scoring 26 goals.
A very good offensive player, Jong Il-gwan is an able passer who can deliver accurate short passes or crosses with either foot and also first time, so that he keeps the pace of the action. He has solid sprint in short distance, decent technique, the ability to face his opponents with good feints, and he's a good finisher. Particularly accurate from set piece, he scored several free kicks, some penalties and he's often in charge of corners. Accurate with both feet, he uses them with the same frequency, taking corners with a different foot depending on the side. Also good in the air despite his short size and scored some headers. Furthermore, he doesn't overlook the defensive phase, occasionally going back even to his own area if necessary in order to regain possession of the ball and start a new offense.
