INFO:Kaunda is a former right-back. He spent his entire career at Al-Merrikh during the 1970s. He capped for Sudan in the early 1970s, taking part to the successful 1970 African Cup of Nations and the 1972 Olympics. Named best African side-back in 1970, Kaunda played his youth career as forward but was turned into a steel right-back. The switch was the correct choice as he could take advantage of good passing skill, great ball control, the ability to protect the ball, and his short but bulky physique allowed him to be strong and agile. And when he joined the attack, he showed accuracy and power in his shots. Therefore, he proved to be a modern and keen defender. He played a major role in the 1970 African Cup in the semifinal against Egypt as he came in as substitute and nullified the dangerous Sayed Abdelrazek. One of Kaunda's favourite opponents was Al-Hilal Omdurman, considering that he scored 5 goals against this team. Three goals were penalties, one was a powerful shot from outside the area, and the last came directly from midfield as he surprised goalkeeper Sabbit Dudu who was outside his goal.
