INFO:Al-Naqr is a former centre forward or secondary striker. After spending a few years in youth teams, he started his professional career in 1974 at Al-Hilal Omdurman. Only one year later he received his first cap for Sudan. After playing some games with Egyptian team Al-Ahly on trial, he joined Saudi team Al Nassr in 1976, spending two years there. He scored the goal in the 1976 Federation Cup final won 1-0 against Al-Ahly. Following a broken foot in the early 1980s, his level was visibly decreased upon his return. He was then sold to Al-Ahly Khartoum in 1985 but he eventually retired after a few matches. He capped for Sudan numerous times and won the 1980 CECAFA Cup.
One of the most prominent Sudanese players of the 1970s and early 1980s, Al-Naqr was extremely dangerous in the middle of the attack, and distinguished for his good fitness, accuracy with both feet, and high technical skill that he put at the service of his team. He had the ability to score and provide assist. His shots most of the times didn't look hard to stop but well-placed as they were, they always found their way into the net.
