Rashid is a former centre-back. He spent his entire career at Al Wasl from 1991 to 2006. He capped for the United Arab Emirates 85 times, scoring 2 goals and taking part to the 1996 AFC Asian Cup where he reached the final. One of the most prominent defenders in the United Arab Emirates' history, Rashid was good enough in his position to provide confidence to his teammates. He was nicknamed "the General" for his strength, commitment and behavior in the field. His defensive game was simple but solid as he controlled his opponents fairly well and knew how to intervene on the ball. He was a star despite being a defender and scored several times, 35 for Al Wasl and twice for his national team. He mostly scored with headers as he was particularly efficient in the air. He also had a good long throw ability.
