Al-Kamali is a centre-back. He spent his best seasons at Al Wahda where he made 180 appearances and scored 13 goals from 2007 to 2020. He was signed by Olympique Lyonnais in January 2012 but he eventually played only for the B team. He also played for Shabab Al Ahli from 2020 to 2023 when he signed for Al-Nasr. He capped for the United Arab Emirates 58 times, scoring 5 goals.
Nickname "the Defensive Rock" due to his good physical strength, Al-Kamali was a mainstay in the Emirates national team since young age. He had proved to be an able defender who can anticipate his opponent by putting himself in front of the striker and taking the ball off him. A solid pace helped him to achieve so many times. Quite good in the air due to his height, he can win many balls with the head, and he also scored some headers. He can deliver fine and usually fast long passes from the back. He occasionally pushes forward to attempt a shot from outside the area. A good set piece taker, he scored some penalties and free kicks.
