Khamees is a former centre forward. He spent his entire career at Al Wasl, scoring 169 goals in 230 league appearances and over 230 goals in all competitions. He's the third all-time scorer in the history of the Emirati league. He capped for the United Arab Emirates 82 times, scoring 37 goals and taking part to the 1990 FIFA World Cup.
Considered one of the best strikers the Emirates have ever produced and one of the most prominent ever players in Arab football, Khamees was a natural goalscorer throughout his long career. He possessed good speed in the short distance, solid technical qualities and notable positioning that enabled him to find himself in the best scoring situations. His specialties were the ability to score difficult goals and his golden heading which was helped by an excellent jump.
