INFO:
Al-Talyani is a former centre forward. He spent his entire career at Al-Shaab from 1979 to 1999, making 563 appearaces and scoring 133 goals. He often received offers from foreign clubs but the strict rules in the Emirates at the time didn't allow him to transfer. He capped for the United Arab Emirates 161 times, scoring 52 goals and taking part to the 1990 FIFA World Cup.
Considered one of the greatest players in the history of the Emirates, Al-Talyani was a goal machine, distinguished for his technique, speed on the distance, excellent scoring skill and the ability to create chances. He could score with power or accuracy, from favourable or difficult positions, first time or after dribbling a defender and the goalkeeper. He also had fantastic jump and heading ability. He could score even from free kick. His great instinct enabled him to take advantage of any defender's mistake and to be in the right spot at the right time to make a tap-in or a header. He was mostly right-footed but was accurate with the left too. He cared a lot about his fitness as he followed a strict regime of sleep, diet and training. He also had great commitment as he often played despite being injured or not in optimal physical condition.
