Khamees is a former attacking or side midfielder who could also play as central midfielder. He spent his entire career at Al Wasl where he played in the 1980s and 1990s, scoring over 160 league goals. He capped for the United Arab Emirates 85 times, scoring not less than 6 goals.
Considered one of the best midfielders in the Emirates' history, Khamees was known for being a good dribbler, able scorer with his right foot when needed, and a man who could play for the entire team thanks to his amazing effort. He was quick on the ball and even faster off the ball. He was also a decent passer. Definitely more effective during offensive plays, he wasn't as good in defending.
