INFO:Junaedi is a former side midfielder or winger. He played in the 1960s and 1970s, mainly for Persija Jakarta and Persebaya Surabaya. He represented Indonesia in the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s, scoring at least 10 goals. After playing some friendlies against big European teams like Manchester United and Ajax, he was recommended to Dutch teams by Wiel Coerver, coach of Indonesia in 1975-76. Junaedi was close to sign for the Go Ahead Eagles but some problems stopped the transfer.
A tough midfielder with an elegant style of play, Junaedi was distinguished by his vision and accurate passing. Although his long passing range was close to the 25 meters, similarly to his teammate Iswadi Idris, Junaedi is often considered the best long passer Indonesia has ever had. He also had a good ball control, ability that he improved under Coerver's guidance. The coach was confident that the midfielder had all the tools to do well in the Dutch league. Furthermore, Junaedi was able to withstand Manchester United's attacks in a 1970s friendly match that ended 0-0.
